Trip to Letea Forest : by motor boats to visit Letea forest, the integral protection regime area; the forest is located on the bank with the same name, one of the oldest banks in the Danube Delta. The forest appears as broad bands of 10 - 250 m, oriented approximately North-South, developing on the flattened coasts of the dunes with the corresponding direction. Such a belt of forest is called “hasmac”.

The most important is called The Great Hasmac being located in the eastern part of the forest. It is a mixture of different species including oak (Quercus pedunculiflora), fluffy ash tree (Fraxinus palissae), white poplar (Populus alba), black and trembling poplar (Populus nigra and Populus tremura), white willow (Salix alba), etc.

Forest Letea is characterized by an abundance of outstanding plants (plants with short stem that would catch the other plants with the help of tendrils), “grimpante” (climbing plants, which are attached to the bodies along which they climb) and volubles (plants with a climbing strain spinning on other plants or bodies) such as: Periploca (Periploca graeca), tendril (Clematis Vitalba), ivy (Hedera helix), wild vine (Vitis vinifera), hops (Humulus lupulus).

After visiting the forest, hunting lunch can be served (extra 10euro/person) in the most traditional way possible, namely a traditional Russian house in the village Letea. The dishes will be accompanied by cold drink removed from wells.
